I Need to Lose 20 Pounds

Prior to getting pregnant, I was happy with my figure. Basically, I liked what I saw when I looked in the mirror. I allowed myself to gain more weight than necessary when I was pregnant. Since I was wearing larger clothes, it was harder to know whether the extra weight was baby weight or fat weight. Also I developed an attitude that it would not be that difficult to lose. Wow, was I ever wrong! I managed to keep 30 extra pounds. After loosing 10 pounds fairly easily, I'm now desperate to lose the final 20 pounds. If I could somehow discipline myself to lose 20 pounds and keep it off, I would be incredibly happy. I want to like what I see when I look in the mirror again. Now, I cringe. All I see are my problem areas.

My Goal to Lose 20 Pounds in 10 Weeks

Becoming a mother and having a colicky baby stressed me out incredibly. A lot of changes occurred in my life and I often felt quite depressed. While feeling down, I used food for comfort. That was a huge mistake, especially when I am needing to lose 20 pounds. I could lose a little bit more than that but I decided to set my first goal at 20 pounds.

I saw this magazine ad that promised me a way to lose weight by simply taking some pills every day. I was always skeptical prior to being desperate to lose 20 pounds, so I suddenly found myself wondering if they would work. I bit the bullet and ordered them. I am embarrassed to announce that taking those pills did absolutely nothing for me except take money from my bank account. I work a full-time job and a part-time job so it is hard to find time for exercise. I've realized though that I must put myself first and place exercise as a top priority, so I have now startedsome power stroller walks in every evening. My daughter loves it and it gets my heart pounding and makes me feel good about myself.

I know that it will not be easy to lose 20 pounds, but I have made a step in the right direction by starting and putting my exercise as a priority. Second step is to not eat food for comfort. I am going to adopt a healthy eating plan in our household. My husband is very supportive and could also stand to lose a few pounds, so I know that he will be happy with smaller portions and a healthy diet plan. Losing a healthy 2 pounds a week should have me at my goal in just 10 weeks. It's not so far away after all.
